LTL Color in the 1990's

• Owners realized the need for a small order, custom color compounding company
• Company founded July 1st, 1990 and named LTL (Less than Truck Load) Color Compounders
• Company started with three owners/employees
• Polymer groups offered: ABS, Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Nylon
  December, 1990: Moved into leased 10,000 sf facility
  • Production equipment purchased: One 40 mm twin-screw Berstorff extruder
  • Lab equipment purchased: Customized Davis Standard 1½” extruder, Spectrophotometer, Injection Molding Machine
  • First business was toll compounding/repelletizing polycarbonate regrind and then coloring the reprocessed work
  • Next business was acrylic copolymer processing
• When plastics manufacturing started moving overseas, LTL developed the ColorFast® product line with most products having UL approval
• July, 1994: LTL moved into larger leased 35,000 sf facility
  • Additional equipment purchased:  One single-screw and two twin-screw extruders
• At the end of 1999 the company had 26 full-time employees

LTL Color in the 2000's

• September, 2000: Purchased land and constructed new 70,000 sf facility.  Future expansion plans include doubling size of building.
  • Additional equipment purchased:  Six twin-screw extruders
  • Additional lab equipment purchased to equip full testing and color labs
  • By this time the company had 40 full-time employees
• ISO 9001:2000 certification achieved December 21, 2000
• In 2005 purchased the license from E.I. DuPont de Nemours to manufacture Surlyn Reflection Series® alloys resulting in purchase of an additional high capacity twin-screw extruder
• In 2006 commenced construction of manufacturing plant in Dongguan, China, which opened in March 2007
• In 2007 introduced EcoFast™ recycled product line
• ISO 13485:2003 certification achieved April, 2009 coinciding with introduction of ColorRx® medical grade resin line
• Currently offer custom compounding; 24 different polymer families; four proprietary product lines; full color matching services; toll processing
